Trail Mixed Portland Community Coordinator

Trail Mixed Collective is seeking one (1) enthusiastic women of color (cis, non-binary, and transwomen) in the  greater Portland area who is energized about building a stronger community of WoC, and excited to lean into a new role and influence its direction.

The Portland Community Coordinator volunteer role is a pilot role to help build community within our Portland Community Leaders (CL) cohort. The Community Coordinator will act as the main point-of-contact for the 2023 cohort of CL’s in Portland. Unlike CL’s who organize events for the general Trail Mixed community, the Community Coordinator will organize 3+ events for the PDX CL cohort throughout their program term like cohort dinners, hikes, meet-ups, etc. Additionally, this person will serve as a liaison between the PDX CL cohort and the Trail Mixed founders. This is a unique position that we’re excited to launch!

Expectations

  • Serve as the point-of-contact for Portland Community Leaders, offering logistical and general support such as event troubleshooting, useful resources,

  • Liaison between Portland CL and TM directors

  • Attend Coordinator onboarding and regular check-ins with CL’s and Trail Mixed leads

  • Plan a minimum of three (3) Community Leader cohort events over the course of the year term (hikes, movie nights, brewery meet-ups, etc.)

  • Help onboard Portland CL’s (tentative)

  • Serve as a Trail Mixed Collective representative and brand face/voice 

Requirements

  • Commit to a minimum of one year starting in March (required)

  • A drive and passion to make the outdoors more inclusive

  • Great organizational, planning, and communication skills

  • Experience in planning small events

  • Ability to lean into a newly created role and troubleshoot as needed

  • Ability to foster intentional and inclusive spaces and community 

  • Must be located in Portland, OR (required)
